One of the best things about garlic is how easy it is to replenish your own crop.

It is very easy to grow and requires very little space. Every bulb of garlic you buy will grow 5-10 new bulbs.

1

Separate the cloves from your bulbs.

2

Plant the cloves about 2″ in the ground and about 6-8″ away from each other. Always make sure the pointy end is facing up.

3

Cover the garlic with a couple inches of dirt. Mulch liberally! (Plain straw works great).

4

Plant from September through November, start weeding in the spring, and harvest when a few leaves have turned brown in early summer.
